,,,01,,, A very strange story which took place in 1954, a man arrives at

,,,01,,, Tokyo International Airport with a passport from a non-existent country called Taured.

One of the most puzzling events of the 20th century was not about

or even the sighting of strange creatures.

It turned out on a seemingly normal day in one of the places

the most boring and mundane you can imagine: the airport.

Yet, to this day, no one knows exactly what happened there, nor

why the average business traveler has become the heart

an enigma largely forgotten by our modern world.

The year 1954 was warmer than normal in Tokyo, but at Haneda Airport,

everything went as usual. Until an unknown date

where a routine European plane dropped off its passengers.

As the crowd passed through customs, a well-dressed, middle-aged Caucasian man,

walked over and told officials it was just a normal business trip or him,

one of three trips to Japan so far this year.

His mother tongue is French, but he also speaks Japanese and

several other languages. In his wallet,

there were a variety of currencies from various European countries, as if to check his frequent flyer tendencies.

When asked about his country of origin, things got weird.

He said without hesitation that he was from Taured, on the border between France and Spain.

Officials told him that Taured didn't exist, but

he presented them with his passport - issued by the non-existent country of Taured -

which also showed corroborating visa stamps

his previous business trips to Japan and other countries.

Yet when they called the company he said he was talking to

having a date, they had never heard of him or his company before that moment.

The hotel where he had reserved a room did not have a reservation for such a person,

and the bank listed on his checkbook did not appear to exist.

The bearded man laughed; it must have been an elaborate joke for him.

The customs officers showed him a map of the world and showed him the small country of Andorra.

Maybe this was his real homeland and somehow

Was he wrong or did he have his own little joke?

The man got angry, saying Andorra didn't exist, but

that she was right where Taured should be. His proud country had existed for a thousand years.

Still reeling from the loss of his homeland, the mysterious man was detained by customs

and was given a room in a nearby hotel for the night, during

that officials were trying to figure out what was going on.

The next morning, the mystery deepened. The only and

only known resident of Taured has completely disappeared

from his hotel room which had been guarded by immigration officials overnight.

And to make matters worse, all his personal documents -

including his passport and driver's license issued by the mysterious country -

disappeared from the airport security room.

Police and airport officials searched unsuccessfully for the mystery man.

It was as if the meeting never happened.

No document attesting to this story has surfaced yet,

but it has been mentioned in several works, including The Directory of Possibilities (1981, p. 86)

and Strange But True: Mysterious and Bizarre People (1999, p. 64).

And given its confusing ending it would be doubtful

that an official has drawn up a conclusive report

that the man and all of his documented evidence is simply gone.

Could this man out of their place of residence

to be from another dimension, or from an alternate reality?

Surprisingly, misplaced travelers like the businessman of

Taured have appeared on numerous occasions.

In 1851, a man was found wandering around Frankfurt an der Oder,

in northeastern Germany, and claimed he came from a country called Laxaria,

on the mainland of Sakria. Another young man speaking a totally unrecognizable language

was caught stealing a loaf of bread in Paris in 1905; he said he was from Lizbia,

that the authorities assumed to be Lisbon - or Lisboa in Portuguese,

but his language was not Portuguese and he did not recognize a map of Portugal as his homeland.

Is Taured somewhere? And what about Laxaria or Liziba?

Did these men fall back in time or did they pass through dimensions?
